About The Uzo-Abaké Foundation
Our Mission Statement

The Uzo-Abake (UA) Foundation is dedicated to uplifting the lives of young women and girls by
advancing their access to essential healthcare, education, and meaningful opportunities for growth.
At The UA Foundation, we believe that when women and girls are empowered with knowledge,
skills and the tools essential for wellbeing, they become profound catalysts for thriving societies and
institutional change. Our mission is deeply rooted in the conviction that every woman deserves the
chance to reach her full potential, uninhibited by socio-economic, cultural and personal obstacles.
At the heart of The UA Foundation is a strong commitment to women’s health. We recognise that
health is the foundation upon which every ambition is built. Without good health, both mental and
physical, even the brightest of minds with the brightest futures can dim. Our work will aim to break
down the barriers that prevent women and girls from accessing high-quality, reliable and culturally
sensitive healthcare. Through health education programmes centred mainly on reproductive and
menstrual care, advocacy initiatives, medical outreach and support services, we will strive to ensure
that women and girls can make informed decisions about their bodies, wellbeing and futures. By
expanding access and education relating to healthcare, we intend to empower young women not only
to survive but to thrive with dignity and confidence.

Equally, we believe that education is a powerful force for transformation. The UA Foundation will
work to create pathways so that young women can pursue academic excellence and personal
development. We aim to support initiatives that reduce barriers to schooling, provide essential
learning resources and open doors so skill-building opportunities that will provide an avenue for
young women to achieve their long-term goals and economic independence. Through mentorship
programmes, scholarship opportunities, vocational training and more, our goal is to cultivate an
environment where women and girls feel seen, supported and capable of achieving greatness.
The UA Foundation stands for empowerment, access and opportunity. We believe that investing in
the young women of today is one of the most powerful ways to uplift our communities. Our work is
guided by compassion, integrity and an unwavering belief in the brilliance and resilience of the
women and girls we serve.

This foundation is born from the strength and sacrifices of the women who have laid the foundations
for us to pursue our dreams. The women whose quiet strength and unshakable will to create
something better, something that mattered for the next generation of women meant that we could
use our voices and platforms to begin contributing to meaningful change. Their legacies demand
that we extend the opportunities that they believed in to every young woman that needs them. Their
courage is our blueprint and their dreams our call to action.
